We're a Vancouver SaaS team, and we've spent more nights than we can count ending up at a Davie Street poutine shop after an event. Web Summit is bringing 20,000 people to our city, and Night Summit is going to be a real thing.
This is not a minute-by-minute itinerary. Late-night hours change too often for that. Think of this as a practical shortlist: where to start polished, where to go if you want the night to get more memorable, and where to find food when everything else is closed.
A quick note: cocktail venues in BC are for guests 19+. Check current hours before heading out, especially during Web Summit week.
Where to Start the Night
Botanist Bar
Inside the Fairmont Pacific Rim, Botanist is the closest serious cocktail program to the Vancouver Convention Centre. Plant-filled, polished, and useful when you want something more interesting than a hotel lobby but still close enough to keep the night easy.
- Best for: A polished start, a pre-dinner meeting, or a quieter conversation before the night gets louder.
- Where: 1038 Canada Place, about 4 minutes from the VCC. $$$
Arcana Spirit Lounge
Hidden behind a "Pet Psychic" storefront in Gastown, Arcana is memorable in exactly the right way. The room has a theatrical, tarot-inspired feel without becoming cheesy, and it gives visitors a story they will actually remember.
- Best for: Guests who want something weird, stylish, and very not-corporate.
- Where: 238 Abbott St, Gastown. $$$
The Keefer Bar
An apothecary-style bar in Chinatown and one of Vancouver's best-known after-dark rooms. Dark, moody, and a classic local pick when you want the night to feel more like Vancouver and less like a hotel conference circuit.
- Best for: Out-of-town guests, small groups, and anyone who wants a more local-feeling night.
- Where: 135 Keefer St. $$$. Reservations recommended on weekends.

Late-Night Eats
Fritz European Fry House
This is the real local move. Tiny shop on Davie Street, almost no one thinks about it during daylight, but ask enough Vancouverites where to go late at night and Fritz will come up fast.
- Why it works: It is casual, reliable, and exactly the kind of food you want at the end of a long event night.
- Order: Medium poutine with Montreal smoked meat. Parmesan peppercorn dip on the side.
- Where: 718 Davie St. $
- Heads-up: Usually open very late, especially later in the week, but hours vary by day. Check before you go.
Breka Bakery
The reliable backup plan. Open all night, every night, with pastries, sandwiches, coffee, and the kind of 2 AM comfort food that saves the night when you do not want anything complicated.
- Order: Sausage roll, cheese bun, or whatever pastry is calling your name.
- Where: 812 Bute St. $
If You Want Earlier Food
If kitchens are still open, Kingyo, Guu Original, and Bao Bei are all excellent. Just do not treat them as guaranteed post-midnight options. Check current hours before building your night around them.
The Simple Web Summit Night Out
- Start near the Convention Centre at Botanist if you want to keep things polished.
- Head to Gastown or Chinatown if the night needs more personality.
- End at Fritz if you want the true local late-night move.
- Use Breka as the reliable all-night backup.
A Few Pro Tips
- Do not overplan the night. Pick one main stop and one backup.
- Check hours before you leave. Vancouver is not New York. A lot of good kitchens close earlier than visitors expect.
- Tipping is around 15% on a tab, or $1 to $2 per drink at counter service.
- Use Uber or taxi between Gastown, Chinatown, and Davie Street late at night.
- Bring a layer. Vancouver evenings in May can still feel cool.
- If you are near the Downtown Eastside, take a car directly to the door instead of wandering around unfamiliar side streets late at night.
Now go have the kind of night that makes the conference feel like it happened in Vancouver, not just inside a convention centre.
